Quarterly Incentive Awards for April - June 2022

             
    Geordie Cowdroy   Athletics Geordie is currently the Boys 15 years high jump Queensland champion and placed 6th at the Australian Athletics Championships in high jump. He won the bronze medal in the Boys 15 years long jump event at the Queensland Little Athletics Championships and at the Little Athletics Australian Championships Geordie competed in the triple jump final placing 11th and also competed in the heptathlon at these championships.
     
     
    Jacob Kent   Athletics Jacob competed at the Queensland Athletics Championships where he won a silver medal in the Under 15 Boys Discus. He then travelled to Sydney to compete at the Australian National Track and Field Championships where he won the gold medal in the Under 15 Boys Discus with a PB. At the Queensland Little Athletics Championships Jacob won the silver medal in the Under 15 Boys Javelin, bronze in the shotput and came 4th in Discus and Long Jump.
     
     
    Trea Middleton   Hockey From his performance as a member of the Darling Downs Schoolboys Under 12 Hockey team Trea was selected in the Queensland Under 12 Schoolboys team to compete at the Australian Championships in Canberra in August. He was also selected as a member of the Toowoomba Under 13 Boys hockey team to compete at the State Championships in Gladstone in July.
     
     
    Elizabeth Koch   Open Water
Swimming
At the age of just 13 Elizabeth has completed in the world series open water swimming competitions for a number of years. This year she has competed in both the Junior Giants, the 1 km Noosa competition and the 1.5 km Mooloolaba Mile, coming 10th in the Under 16 wave and 2 minutes behind 42 female swimmers from 174 overall including elite swimmers which included Olympic swimmer Libby Trickett.
     
     
    Nazarlo Larkin   Touch,
Rugby League &
Cross Country
Nazarlo has been selected as a member of the Under 12 Boys Toowoomba Touch team and has been selected as a shadow for the Darling Downs Under 12 Boys Touch team. In the sport of Rugby League Nazarlo has been selected in the Under 11 Boys Toowoomba team and the Darling Downs Under 11 Boys team to compete at the state titles in Townsville. In the sport of Cross Country Nazarlo won the Under 11 Boys School and central zone competitions.
     
     
    Rylee Franke   Athletics Rylee won the gold medal in the Under 13 Girls high jump at the Queensland Little Athletics Championships with a clearance of 1.58m. She followed this up with a silver in the Under 13 Girls high jump at the Australian Little Athletics Championships. At the Australian Track & Field Championships held in Sydney Rylee placed 5th in the Under 14 Girls high jump. She jumped the same height as 2nd place but placed 5th on a countback.
     
     
    Erwee Willemse   Steeplechase After running two qualifying times in the Boys Under 16 years 2000m steeplechase at the Queensland Athletics Championships, Erwee competed at the Australian Track and Field Championships where he represented Queensland for the first time.
     
     
    Xander Willemse   Cross Country Xander has represented the Darling Downs at the Cross Country State Championships in 2021 and 2022. From his performances at these championships he has made the Queensland Merit team both times. However the National Championships were cancelled due to Covid.
     
     
    Taylah Chapman   Para Athletics Taylah went to Sydney to compete at the Australian Athletics Championships and came away with some amazing results despite being one of the youngest competitors in her events. At just 13 years of age she won the silver medal in the Under 15 Girls Para Discus and Under 17 Para Javelin and won the bronze in the Under 15 Para Long Jump.
     
     
    Haylee Wilson   Futsal Haylee was a member of the team who placed runners-up at the Queensland South West Regional Futsal Championships in Brisbane. From her performance at these championships, Haylee has been selected to compete in the Queensland team at the Australian Futsal Championships in Sydney.
     
     
    Mackenzie Grimes   Swimming At the National Age Swimming Championships, Mackenzie competed in 4 top 10 finals. In the Girls 13 years division she finished with two silver medals in the 50m and 100m Backstroke, 5th in 200m Backstroke and 10th in 200m Individual Medley. Mackenzie was also selected for the backstroke leg of the Queensland Medley Relay team and the team won the silver medal in this event.
     
     
    Caitlin Gray   Pistol Shooting Caitlin was one of two juniors to represent Queensland at the ISSF Pistol Shooting Championships in Melbourne over the Easter long weekend. She placed 7th in Junior Women’s (Under 21) Air Pistol. She also placed 4th in Standard Pistol and 7th in 25 metre pistol.
     
     
    Harrison Smith   Swimming From his results in the pool Harrison qualified to swim at the Queensland Sprint Championships and also at the Jess Schipper Challenge at the National preparation meet. He qualified in the final top 8 at the DDRSA Regional Championships, won Age Champion at his school swimming carnival with a broken finger, and was runner-up Age Champion for the Gatton Swim Club Age Championships.
     
     
    Sophie Gray   Swimming Sophie has represented The Glennie Swimming Club at state level as well as Darling Downs School Sport and won the silver medal in the Girls U15 years, 50m breaststroke at DDRSA championships. She has also represented The Glennie Swimming Club at the Age Nationals in the 50m breaststroke and relay team.
     
     
    Romey Wiemers   Water Polo &
Swimming
In April, Romey was selected as a member of the Darling Downs School Sport Water Polo team to compete at the Queensland School Water Polo Championships. She was then drafted into a Brisbane team for the Queensland Water Polo Championships and also the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships. In the sport of swimming Romey represented the Darling Downs at the Queensland Schools Swimming Championships.
     
     
    Evie Phillips   Hockey From her performances in the sport of hockey, Evie has been selected in the Darling Downs Under 12 Girls team, the Toowoomba Under 13 Girls Hockey team and as a shadow for the Queensland Under 12 Girls Hockey team.
     
     
    Addison Clay   Softball Addison was selected in the Darling Downs 13-19 years Softball team to compete at the Schoolsports Queensland Championships at Redlands, Brisbane. Playing for the Toowoomba Softball Association Addison was also selected in the Queensland Under 14 years Softball Squad and will represent Toowoomba again in the Girls Under 16 Softball team at the championships in Rockhampton in September.
     
     
    Josh McPaul   Indoor Hockey Josh was named Player of the Club Glenvale Challenge tournament and has been selected in the Australian Men’s Indoor Hockey team to compete later in the year.
     
     
    Oliver Gray   Pistol Shooting Oliver was one of two juniors to represent Queensland at the ISSF Pistol Shooting Championships held in Melbourne. He placed 4th in the Junior Men’s (U21) Air Pistol against representatives from each other Australian state.
